Description

Supporting Queensland public school students to pursue tertiary teaching studies

The Teachers Health Tertiary Teaching Scholarship (QLD) is open to Year 12 (2025)/current first year students, who attended public high schools in Queensland and have commenced tertiary study in teaching or education in 2026. The scholarship aims to support high-potential students facing hardship to successfully transition into teacher-training pathways at a public university or TAFE.

Scholarships assist students transitioning into full-time study after Year 12 in 2025. Eligible pathways include bachelor’s degrees (teaching/education), teaching-related diplomas or equivalent TAFE qualifications that support future entry into an Initial Teacher Education program.

Funding may be awarded over three years at $3,000 per year (a total of $9,000). A one-off relocation payment may be available where applicable. Final scholarship value depends on individual circumstances and course pathway.

What the Scholarship Covers

Scholarship funds may be used for tertiary study needs including:

  • Course fees
  • Required equipment
  • Stationery and textbooks
  • Laptop or device for study
  • Software or online course subscriptions

Recipients must submit an academic transcript each year to confirm satisfactory progress. PEF reserves the right to withdraw scholarships for unsatisfactory academic progression or if the student discontinues their course. Any unused funds must be returned.
