The Public Education Foundation’s Western Sydney Leadership Dialogue Scholarship supports public school students attending a high school in Western Sydney. The scholarships targets students whose personal circumstances are such that without the scholarship they may not have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
The scholarships are funded by the Western Sydney Leadership Dialogue, a not-for-profit community initiative that facilitates interaction between key opinion leaders across industry, government, academic and the community to support and promote Greater Western Sydney.
Each scholarship will provide financial support of $1,000 per year in year 11 and year 12 (total scholarship value is $2,000 per student) to help with resources and services to improve educational outcomes.
The scholarship is to cover educational expenses such as:
- Uniforms and equipment
- Stationery and books
- Laptop, iPad or similar device
- Subject or study related software
- Printer
- Internet connection at home for study
- School excursions and school camps
- Furniture for study such as desk, chair, lamp etc.
- Face-to-face tutoring or online tutoring
If a student leaves public school before the end of Year 12, the scholarship will lapse. Please note - if a student’s attendance rate falls below an acceptable level at any time during the duration of the scholarship, the scholarship may be withdrawn. Any unspent monies at the end of the scholarship period must be refunded to the Public Education Foundation scholarship fund.

BASIC ELIGIBILITY
- Attends a NSW Public School in the Western Sydney area (see Greater Western Sydney Map)
- Currently in Year 10 (in 2025)
- Australian citizen or permanent resident
SELECTION CRITERIA
- Attending a high school in the Western Sydney area
- Evidence of commitment to community issues
- Potential to do well at school and be able to demonstrate that the scholarship will make a significant contribution to reaching that potential
- Positive attitude towards school and high rates of attendance
- Intention to complete their HSC and continue to further education
- Demonstrate they participation in school life
- Able to demonstrate contribution in the community and/or in extracurricular activities
